Also known as Saltpetre, Potassium Nitrate is a white crystalline compound that is highly soluble in water and rich in nitrogen and potassium. It is both an oxidizer and a fertilizer, and has historical use in gunpowder.

Reacting potassium chloride (KCl) with nitric acid (HNO₃) or ammonium nitrate (NH₄NO₃)
